 मोहन  अंदर से बहुत दुखी हुआ  और खाना खा कर अपने बिस्तर पर सोने के लिए चला गया.........

अगले दिन  मोहन  जब सुबह सो कर उठा तो उसने देखा की माँ अभी तक बिस्तर पर लेटी हुई है तो  मोहन  अपनी माँ से बोला की माँ क्या हुआ अभी तक सो रही हो तबियत खराब है क्या या कुछ दर्द हो रहा है तो  मोहन  की माँ बिना मन के बोली है  मेरी तबियत खराब है और तुम अपने लिए कुछ बना खा के काम पर चले जाना तो  मोहन  बोला अगर तबियत ज्यादा खराब है तो मै आज काम पर नहीं जाता हु तो  मोहन की माँ बोली नहीं तुम अपने काम पर जाओ मेरी चिंन्ता मत करो वैसे भी तुमको करना तो अपने मन का ही है तो तुम मेरी फ़िक्र मत करो अपने काम पर जाओ इतना सुन कर  मोहन  माँ के पास ही बैठ गया और माँ से बोला माँ तुम आज -कल मुझसे सही से बात क्यों नहीं करती हो तो  मोहन  की माँ बोली क्या बात करू जो बात करती हु वो तुम सुनते ही कहा हो तो  मोहन  बोला माँ ऐसे क्यों कह रही हो मै तुम्हारी कौन से बात नहीं सुनता हु बस तुम ये शादी की जिद्द छोर दो |

तो माँ ने कहा देखो बेटा अब मै और काम नहीं कर सकती हु मेरी तबियत खराब रहती है और तुम भी सारा दिन घर में नहीं रहते तो घर की जिम्मेदार उठाने के लिए कोई तो होना चाहिए इस लिए तुम शादी कर लो, तो  मोहन  बोला माँ तुम समझती क्यों नहीं हो मै अभी बहुत छोटा हु मै अभी शादी की जिम्मेदारियां नहीं उठा पाउँगा और घर की स्थिति तो आप देख ही रही हो शादी कैसे होगी |

तो  मोहन  की माँ बोली तुमसे भी छोटे -छोटे लड़के लड़कियों की शादी हो रही है तुम तो तब भी बड़े हो और इतने मेहनती भी हो तो तुम शादी की जिम्मेदारियां क्यों नहीं उठा सकते हो और वैसे भी तुम्हारे पिता ने तुम्हारी शादी उस लड़की से बचपन में ही तय कर दी थी तो तुमको शादी तो करनी ही पड़ेगी तो  मोहन  बोला अगर ऐसी बात है तो ठीक है मै शादी वही करूँगा पर अभी ३,४ साल रुक जाओ मै अपनी पढाई पूरी करके कुछ बनना चाहता हु ताकि घर की स्थिति सुधर सके उसके बाद आप जो कहोगी मै वही करूँगा | तो  मोहन  की माँ बोली की नहीं -शादी अभी कर लो बाद में जो करना है करते रहना   माँ की ऐसी गुस्से भरी बाते  सुन कर  मोहन  वहा से उठ कर घर के अंदर चला गया और जल्दी -जल्दी  घर के काम करके खाना बनाया और माँ से बोला माँ  खाना खा लेना मै काम पर जा रहा हु इतना कह कर  मोहन  ने अपनी साइकल उठाई और बिना कुछ खाये पिए ही काम पर चला गया |

 मोहन  के घर से निकलते ही उसकी माँ उठी और घर का  जो काम बचा हुआ  था उसे पूरा करके दातुन कुल्ला किया और खाना खाने के लिए रसोई में गई तो वह देखती है की खाना तो पूरा वैसा का वैसा ही रखा है करन खाना खा कर नहीं गया है ये देख कर उसकी माँ दुखी हुई पर मन ही मन सोचने लगी की अगर मै इस तरह गुस्सा नहीं करुँगी तो ये शादी नहीं करेगा उसके बाद  मोहन  की माँ ने थाली में खाना निकला और बैठे कर खाने की तरफ देखते हुए बोली आज मेरा बेटा बिना खाये भूखा ही काम  चला गया और सोचने लगी की मै कही अपने बेटे के साथ गलत तो नहीं कर  रही हु वो मेरा कितना  ख्याल रखता है मै फिर भी उससे जबरदस्ती अपनी बात मनवाने की कोसिस कर रही हु  मेरे इतने  जबरदस्ती करने पर अगर वो शादी के लिए  मान गया और उसकी शादी हो गई उसके बाद वह खुश न रहा तो मै खुद को कभी माफ़ नहीं कर पाऊँगी |

ये  बाते सोच कर  मोहन  की  माँ मन ही मन कहने लगी इससे पहले की कुछ गलत हो मै जगदीश भैया से कह कर शादी के लिए मना कर देती हु और उठ कर जगदीश के घर की तरफ चल पड़ी लेकिन जगदीश उसे रास्ते में ही मिल गया और बोला भाभी जी मै आपके ही घर आ रहा था अच्छा हुआ आप रास्ते में ही मिल गई क्या  मोहन  शादी के लिए  मान गया तो करन की माँ बोली नहीं अभी वह पढाई करना चाहता है शादी नहीं करना चाहता है तो आप जा कर लड़की वालो से मना कर दीजियेगा की अभी हम ३,४ साल शादी नहीं करेंगे तो जगदीश बोला भाभी पागल हो गई है क्या कैसी बच्चो जैसी बाते कर रही है आप अपने घर की स्थिति देख रही है कैसी है कोई जल्दी से आपके घर शादी के लिए तैयार नहीं होगा रिस्ता हाथ से जाने मत दीजिये लड़की वाले अमीर भी है और शादी के लिए तैयार भी है आप शादी कर लीजिये अच्छा खासा दहेज़ भी मिलेगा जिससे आपके घर की स्थिति सुधर जाएगी इस तरीके की मीठी चुपड़ी बातो में जगदीश  मोहन  की माँ को फुसलाने लगा और शादी करने की जोर देने लगा तो करन की माँ बोली पर अभी हमारे पास इतने पैसे नहीं है की हम शादी कर सके तो जगदीश बोला अरे भाभी पैसे की चिंन्ता मत करो जो भी खर्च होगा मै  पूरा करूँगा और शादी के बाद में धीरे -धीरे करके चूका देना |

अब  मोहन  की माँ जगदीश की बातो में फिर से आ गई और बोली ठीक है भैया मै  मोहन  को समझाने की कोशिस करती हु इतना कह कर वो घर वापस आ गयी उधर जगदीश मन ही मन खुश होने लगा की अच्छा बेकूफ़ बनाया इन्हे क्या पता की दहेज़ में एक फूटी कौड़ी भी नहीं मिलेगी और लड़की भी कुछ खास नहीं है किसी तरह से मै करन की शादी वहा करा पाऊ फिर उसके बाद मै जो चाहूंगा वही होगा क्योंकि इन्हे इतना भी दहेज़ नहीं मिलेगा की मेरा ही कर्ज उतार सके अपने घर की स्थिति क्या सुधरेगी | तब इनके पास एक ही रास्ता होगा जो मै कहूंगा ये वही करेंगे फिर  मै इनके खेतो पर भी कब्ज़ा कर करूँगा और इनसे अपनी गुलामी भी करवाऊंगा  यही सब सोचते हुए जगदीश अपने खेतो की तरफ चला गया| ----
